Official Rules

1. General Rules

Eligibility: The hackathon is open to all individuals who have registered. Participants must meet any specific age or professional requirements outlined by the organizers.

Registration Fees: The hackathon will be conducted in two rounds. Round one doesn't have any registration fees but the round two has the following registration fees:

  • For IEEE Members: ₹700
  • For Non-IEEE Members: ₹1000

Team Size: Teams must consist of a maximum of 5 members. Team members are not permitted to switch teams after the event begins.

Originality of Work: All work must be the original creation of the team and completed entirely during the hackathon. Using pre-existing code, projects, or assets is strictly forbidden, with the following exceptions:

  • Publicly available and open-source libraries, frameworks, and APIs.
  • Pre-existing assets such as open-source images, audio, or publicly licensed fonts.

Submissions: Teams must submit their project via Github by the designated deadline. A complete submission includes:

  • A link to the project's public code repository (e.g., GitHub, GitLab).
  • A brief write-up or project description.
  • A demonstration video (if required) of the project's functionality.

Time Limit: Hacking must cease at the specified submission deadline. Teams are permitted to make minor bug fixes after the deadline, but no new features or significant changes are allowed.

2. Code of Conduct & Fair Play

Harassment Policy: The hackathon is committed to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone. We do not tolerate harassment in any form. Participants violating this policy will be sanctioned or expelled from the event at the discretion of the organizers.

Respectful Environment: All participants are expected to treat each other with respect, kindness, and professionalism. Any form of discrimination, intimidation, or inappropriate behavior will result in immediate disqualification.

Mentorship: Mentors and volunteers are available to provide guidance and support. Participants are encouraged to seek their help. However, mentors are not permitted to write code for teams or solve technical challenges for them.

Cheating & Plagiarism: Any form of cheating, plagiarism, or malicious activity will result in immediate disqualification. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Using someone else's work without proper attribution.
  • Copying code from another team.
  • Tampering with another team's project.

Reporting: If you experience or witness a violation of the code of conduct, please report it to an organizer immediately. All reports will be handled confidentially and with a serious and fair process.

3. Intellectual Property (IP) & Code Ownership

Participant Ownership: All intellectual property rights to the project developed during the hackathon will remain with the participants. The organizers, sponsors, and partners will not claim any ownership of the projects.

License: Participants are highly encouraged to release their code under an open-source license after the event.

No Obligation: The hackathon organizers and sponsors have no obligation to commercialize, develop, or promote any submitted project.

4. Disclaimers & General Provisions

Liability: The organizers and sponsors are not liable for any loss, damage, or injury to personal property or individuals that may occur during the hackathon. Participants are responsible for their own safety, equipment, and actions.

Privacy: By participating, you agree to the collection and use of your personal information for the purposes of event administration, communication, and prize distribution.

Modification of Rules: The organizers reserve the right to modify these rules at any time. Any changes will be communicated promptly and clearly to all participants. Continued participation in the event after a change signifies acceptance of the new rules.

FAQs

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE?

The hackathon is open to students, developers, innovators, and enthusiasts from any background. No prior hackathon experience is required.

Organizers, mentors, judges, and volunteers are not eligible to compete.

CAN I PARTICIPATE AS A TEAM?

Yes! Teams can have 1–5 members. Solo participation is not allowed.

Cross-college/cross-organization teams are welcome.

WHEN WILL THE PROBLEM STATEMENTS BE SHARED?

Problem statements will be revealed during the workshop on 2nd September. Participants will work on their chosen problem throughout the hackathon.

WHAT ARE THE PRIZES?

Total prize pool of ₹1,00,000.

  • 🥇 1st Prize – ₹50,000
  • 🥈 2nd Prize – ₹30,000
  • 🥉 3rd Prize – ₹20,000

Projects will be judged based on:

  • Innovation & Originality
  • Technical Implementation & Complexity
  • Design & User Experience
  • Impact & Viability
