Judging Criteria
1. Innovation & Originality (25 points)
This category evaluates the uniqueness and creativity of the solution.
Problem Identification (5 points):
- Does the team clearly identify a significant problem?
- Is the problem relevant and impactful?
Novelty of the Solution (10 points):
- How original is the idea? Is it a new approach to an existing problem, or is it solving a completely new problem?
- Does it offer a unique value proposition compared to existing solutions?
Creativity (10 points):
- Does the solution demonstrate "out-of-the-box" thinking?
- Is the use of technology creative or unexpected?
2. Technical Implementation & Complexity (25 points)
This category assesses the technical execution and the "how" of the project.
Functionality (10 points):
- Does the solution work as intended?
- Are the core features implemented and functional?
- Is the user experience smooth and free of major bugs?
Technical Difficulty (10 points):
- How complex is the underlying technology or algorithm?
- Did the team tackle a difficult problem or use advanced techniques?
- Consider the use of APIs, machine learning models, blockchain, or other advanced technologies.
Code Quality & Architecture (5 points):
- Is the code clean, well-structured, and easy to understand (if visible)?
- Is the project's architecture well-designed and scalable?
3. Design & User Experience (UX/UI) (20 points)
This category focuses on the usability and aesthetic appeal of the solution.
User Interface (UI) (10 points):
- Is the visual design aesthetically pleasing and professional?
- Is the layout clean and intuitive?
- Is the design consistent across the application?
User Experience (UX) (10 points):
- Is the solution easy to use and navigate?
- Does the user flow make sense?
- Does the project provide a positive and seamless experience for the end-user?
4. Impact & Viability (20 points)
This category evaluates the potential for the project to make a real-world difference and its potential for future growth.
Potential Impact (10 points):
- Does the solution have a significant social, environmental, or economic impact?
- Who is the target audience, and how large is it?
- Does it solve a genuine problem for its intended users?
Feasibility & Scalability (10 points):
- Could this project be developed into a fully-fledged product or service?
- Is the business model (if applicable) well-thought-out?
- Does the project have a clear path for future development and scaling?
5. Presentation & Communication (10 points)
This category assesses how effectively the team communicates their idea.
Clarity of Presentation (5 points):
- Did the team clearly explain their idea, the problem, and the solution?
- Was the presentation well-structured and easy to follow?
Demonstration (5 points):
- Did the live demo of the project run smoothly?
- Did the team effectively showcase the key features of their project?
